The 2023 Awards & Graduation Evening is our NIGHT OF NIGHTS; where we Celebrate, Acknowledge & Reward our Young People’s efforts throughout 2023 in; Boarding, Leadership, Sporting, Cultural, Transition & Education.
The Awards Night is the most prestigious date on our Boarding calendar. In 2023, we moved our Awards Night OFFSITE to the Hilton, Cairns – to allow more guests to be in attendance. This year was the biggest attended event, with over 240 guests in attendance.
Boarding is about providing our Boys & Girls the opportunity to experience living away from home, gain quality education, and maintain a healthy living lifestyle – and at our Awards Night we definitely celebrated their year that was (and everything in between).
From everyone at AFL Cape York; congratulations to all of our winners – you should all be extremely proud of your achievements. Not only have you done yourself proud, but you have made your school, your family and your community very proud. You represent a large group of people!
The final part of the night was celebrating our graduates; Edna, Yehusha, Taum, Kai, Ned, Steven & Peterson – CONGRATULATIONS. Thank you for your involvement, commitment and influence within our Program & Environment over the years. You have all matured so much since Day 1 of meeting you. Life will throw challenges at you, but remain positive, seek support from people you trust and understand learning from a mistake is OK! Good luck in your future endeavours and remember, you will always be apart of the AFL Cape York Family!
As we close on our success for 2023, we look forward to the opportunities of 2024.
