Associate Professor Chris Morrey is an orthopaedic surgeon who has been living in Cairns for 25 years.
He is a past President of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and past Chair of the Regional Orthopaedic Surgeons and Cultural & Inclusion Committees of the AOA. He specialises in acute trauma, sports injuries, spinal surgery and reconstructive surgery including primary and revision arthroplasty. He currently practises at the Cairns Private and Cairns Hospital. He is the sole director of Cassowary Medicolegal providing medicolegal reports.
Chris has a long history of board participation both as a director and chairperson in local, national and international organisations. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
A keen sportsman himself and an active member of the community, Chris has been involved in supporting AFL Cairns, Cairns Basketball and the Cairns Taipans. He is also passionate about advocating for equal opportunities for our Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander people.
