An outstanding Queensland servant of Australian football on and off the field, Dean Warren enjoys the rare distinction of climbing to the top of the tree as a local player before becoming a senior member of the AFL management team, including CEO of AFL Queensland.
Dean worked full-time in the AFL industry for over three decades, including 14 years in game development roles in Queensland before moving to AFL Headquarters in Melbourne in 2002. Promoted to National Participation Manager, Dean was responsible for the strategic growth and development of the game at all levels below the AFL competition. More recently, Dean took the opportunity to move to a part-time role with the AFL and became non-Executive Chair of AFL Queensland. Dean also currently holds the role of Inaugural Chair of the AFL’s Queensland Strategic Advisory Group. Dean was appointed as Director on the AFLCY Board in 2016.
